The transmission control protocol (TCP) is widely used in wired and wireless networks. It provides reliable transport services between end-to-end hosts. Since TCP performance affects the overall network performance, several analytical models were proposed to describe the steady-state throughput of bulk transfer TCP flows (i.e., a flow with large amount of data to send, such as FTP transfers). However,...
In this paper we present a high accuracy computer-aided diagnosis scheme. The goal of the developed system is to classify benign and malignant microcalcifications on mammograms. It is mainly based on a combination of wavelet decomposition, feature extraction and classification methodology using Fisherpsilas linear discriminant. The contribution of wavelet decomposition is to denoise and to enhance...
This paper presents an analytical model for TCP TAHOE. For this model an algorithm is derived to calculate the utilization and packet drop rate. The accuracy of the model is verified by comparing the calculated results versus simulation results. We calculate TCP utilization and drop rate with mathematical model.
A series of mixed mode I/II fracture tests is conducted on polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) in the full range from pure mode I to pure mode II using a semi-circular bend (SCB) specimen containing an edge crack. The fracture load and the path of crack growth are obtained from experiments for various crack angles. It is shown that the conventional mixed mode I/II fracture criteria such as the maximum tangential...
