The current knowledge of the subfamily Arctiinae (Lithosiini, Arctiini, Syntomini) fauna of South Korea is reported, based on the checklist of Bae et al (2013) completed by data on several taxa described since this date, with one newly recorded genus, Schistophleps Hampson, and one rare species, Spilarctia robusta (Leech). Illustrations of adults and genitalia are presented.
Japanese species, Ypsolopha fujimotoi Moriuti, 1964 is reported from Korea for the first time. Additionally, the female of Ypsolopha fujimotoi Moriuti is newly described. Illustrations of adults and photographs of genitalia, diagnosis, distribution, and host plants are provided, as well as a discussion of Y. fujimotoi Moriuti and Ypsolopha longa Moriuti.
Two species of the genus Herpetogramma Lederer are reported for the first time in Korea: Herpetogramma licarsisalis (Walker) and Herpetogramma stultalis (Walker). The description, host plants, adult photographs, and pictures of the male and female genitalia are provided.
Two species of tined moths, Monopis longella (Walker, 1863) and Monopis congestella (Walker, 1864) were collected using artificial feather traps in Korea, with M. congestella reported for the first time from Korea. This is the first report of the use of feather traps to collect moths in Korea, and the biological information regarding M. longella and M. congestella are presented for the first time...
Four species of the genus Evergestis Hübner, 1816–1826 are recognized from NE China, of which E. pallidata (Hufnagel 1767) is reported for the first time from China. The adults and genitalia of the species are briefly redescribed and illustrated with their distributional ranges, host plants and biology. A key to species of the genus based on the external characters is provided.
