We numerically analyzed the refractive index sensing performance of the two-dimensional array of plasmonic V-shaped grooves. The structural parameters are optimized to show a sharp and large reflectance dip with desired sensing region (n=1.33). Acquiring the sensitivity of the environmental refractive index as 400 nm/RIU in the visible region, FWHM of the dip is ∼5 nm. It shows that the proposed structure...
Dysregulation of MLL complex-mediated histone methylation plays a pivotal role in gene expression associated with diseases, but little is known about cellular factors modulating MLL complex activity. Here, we report that SON, previously known as an RNA splicing factor, controls MLL complex-mediated transcriptional initiation. SON binds to DNA near transcription start sites, interacts with menin, and...
Focal adhesion kinase (FAK) and proline-rich tyrosine kinase 2 (Pyk2) are non-receptor protein tyrosine kinases that are involved in cell proliferation, migration and survival. Current research of FAK and Pyk2 is greatly focused in cancer biology and several small molecule inhibitors are being tested under clinical development. Like cancer, certain chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease,...
Novel planar metal-insulator-metal cavity structured gammadion is suggested. It is shown that the proposed gammadion can exhibit 8 times higher optical torque under spin-less normally incident light compared to the previous work.
We present a sub-micron sized complex modulator. It consists of a magnetic dipole resonant absorbing structure and Fabry-Perot resonator. Additional wave retardation in the resonator gives full modulation of reflected light.
Novel formulation of Fourier Modal Method (FMM) for photonic structures with time-dependent perturbation is developed. It is found that in case of time-dependent perturbation, Bloch modes in the modulation region take the form of mixed harmonic modes. The validity of the proposed FMM is examined by the analysis on the waveguide structure with non-reciprocity induced by time-dependent perturbation.
