We present first-principles calculations for saturable absorption in graphite based on time-dependent density functional theory. Solving time-dependent Kohn-Sham equation for bulk graphite under a strong and ultrashort electric field, we have succeeded to investigate the temporal behavior of saturable absorption without any empirical parameters. It is found that the saturation takes place for ultrashort...
A pair of plasma focus devices was operated with a counter-facing configuration. The focus electrode consisted of six cathodes and a center anode, drove a multichannel discharge. The $2 \times 6$ multichannel discharges were triggered by a YAG laser, which also supplied lithium plasma as the radiation source. A high energy density lithium plasma was formed in the center of focus electrodes, which...
We report a soliton mode-locked oscillation with all-polarization maintaining fiber laser based on Carbon NanoWalls saturable absorber. Kelly sideband which is characteristic spectrum pattern of a soliton mode-locked oscillation was measured and the bandwidth was 5.7nm. High intensity and high damage threshold was also measured.
