We present coherent Raman spectroscopy of DMSO/water mixtures in the terahertz (THz) frequency region. In the measurements we use the spectral focusing technique with frequency chirped optical pulses, which enables us to measure both the stimulated Raman gain and loss signal in a wide THz frequency range from 0.1 to 25 THz. The observed coherent Raman spectra of [DMSO/water] mixtures show nonlinear...
Two simple experimental techniques of quantitative linear dichroism analysis were developed with Jones calculus for polarization-sensitive terahertz time-domain spectroscopy. Both of them involve the optical measurements at only three angles of rotation for sample or polarizer setup. Such non-destructive evaluation techniques could be a useful addition for quality control of polymer or composite materials...
We present our preliminary results combining and optimizing three techniques to accomplish broadband THz-TDS. THz generation from Cherenkov-type radiation using a ridge-type waveguide in a non-linear optical crystal (lithium niobate) has been successfully demonstrated. We adapted this method with optimized out coupling conditions. Reversed photoconductive antenna detection was shown to achieve broadband...
