We present a numerical study of the interactions between two solitons that split from two picosecond pulses with different time intervals during supercontinuum generation in a photonic crystal fiber. We demonstrate the manner in which the soliton interaction evolves along the fiber and affects the dynamics of the soliton pair. The results show that spectral broadening can be attributed to interpulse...
We propose and experimentally demonstrate the first THz-bandwidth on-chip fractional Hilbert transformer based on an integrated phase-shifted waveguide Bragg grating on silicon. Experimental results show an error of only 0.24 % at 940 GHz bandwidth.
Due to the coexistence of different generations of mobile radio technologies, more and more mobile network operators are keen on deploying multiple radio technologies on a single cell site and carry their traffic over a common transport network. This paper studies such a collocated multiradio system: collocated LTE and HSDPA. Firstly, we investigate the potential gain by using a shared transport network...
Tactical naming service is a critical component of tactical communications systems, which provides essential name-address resolution and service discovery for tactical users. Generally speaking, tactical users of land communications systems can be categorized into stationary HQ users (users in headquarters network), mounted users (users in vehicle networks), and dismounted users (users in mobile ad...
We present a THz time-domain spectrometer based on an 830 nm all semiconductor femtosecond laser system. Optical pulses with durations of less than 600 fs are used to gate standard LT-GaAs antennas. We achieve a signal to noise ratio of more than 40 dB in intensity and a bandwidth of 1.4 THz. Simulations based on the Drude-Lorentz model show a good agreement with the measured THz signals. Spectroscopic...
