A series of slot Si-on-SiO2 photonic crystal heterostructure cavities with resonant wavelengths ranging from 1.28 to $1.6~\mu \text{m}$ is reported. These cavities, presenting $Q/V$ factors typically around 800 000, can be used for the hybrid integration of various active materials within the silicon photonics platform.
In this paper, we report a series of slot photonic crystal heterostructure cavities with resonant wavelengths in the range of 1.3 µm – 1.6 µm. These cavities, which have a wide range operation as well as high Q/V factors (above 800,000), can be used for various applications based on the integration of active materials in the silicon photonics platform.
