This paper report on cw UV generation by intracavity frequency doubling of a laser diode pumped Praseodymium (Pr)-doped:YLF laser operating at 523.6 nm. A lens of 50 mm focal length was used to focus the pump beam into the laser crystal. For the generation of UV radiation a beta-barium-borate (BBO)-crystal was placed in the beam waist of the cavity, located between mirrors.
The continuous wave, diode pumped laser operation of Pr3+:YLiF4 (Pr:YLF) was reported. In contrast to other solid-state lasers, Pr-lasers need only a single nonlinear step for generation of wavelengths in the UV. For instance, UV-lasers can be realized in a simple and robust way by intracavity frequency doubling of Pr-lasers, operating on the fundamental wavelength in the visible spectral region....
In this paper, we report to the best of our knowledge the first demonstration of a continuous wave (CW) Pr3+:LuAlO3. The Pr3+:LuAlO3 laser shows a maximum CW output power of 6.7 mW for 72 mW of absorbed blue pump power and a slope efficiency of 14% in case of an outcoupling mirror. Laser oscillation could be observed at a wavelength of 722.5 nm in the deep red part of the visible spectrum.
The authors report on the spectroscopy and laser results of diode pumped Pr-doped fluorides. We obtained efficient laser emission in the visible range with LiYF4, LiLuF4 and LiGdF4 crystals.
This paper reports on new results regarding the generation of 320 nm wavelength both in continuous wave and pulsed mode by actively Q-switching of the cw Pr-laser. For the cw experiments, a frequency doubled optically pumped semiconductor laser is used providing 1.6 W of linear polarized laser radiation at 480 nm with a nearly diffraction limited beam.
In this work we investigate visible transitions of Pr in the crystal Pr:LiLuF4. In particular we will report on the growth, emission and absorption spectroscopy as well as laser action at four different wavelengths. Findlay-Clay and Caird analysis have been carried out in order to characterise the cavity and the crystal quality. To the best of our knowledge the reported slope efficiencies are the...
Visible lasing and frequency doubling of semiconductor and diode laser pumped Pr3+:LiLuF4 will be presented. Output powers of 550 mW in the visible spectral region and 261 mW at 320 nm are demonstrated.
19 mW of continuous-wave ultraviolet radiation at 320 nm with ~9% optical-to-optical efficiency is demonstrated by intracavity frequency-doubling of a Pr:LiYF4 laser, excited by an optically pumped semiconductor laser.
Summary form only given. Laser oscillation in continuous wave regime in Pr/sup 3+/:YLiF/sub 4/ in the red spectral range is reported. The system is pumped at 480 nm using an optically pumped semiconductor (OPS) laser for the first time.
