Incoherent digital holography (IDH) offers the ability to record a complete three-dimensional scene without using lasers. In this review paper, the evolution of a well-established method of IDH, the Fresnel incoherent correlation holography (FINCH), is described. Following the FINCH development review, several recently developed methods branched out from FINCH are discussed.
Optical techniques are widely used for trapping of particles. One such technique involves the use of passive diffractive optical elements. Recently, a novel passive diffractive optical element, a spiral phase Fresnel zone plate (FZP) was proposed [1]. In this paper, we present an improved version, of the earlier reported element, that will allow for a compact optical configuration for generation of...
A micro fraxicon was designed and fabricated using electron beam direct writing. The fraxicon was evaluated using a DBR laser and the generation of quasi Bessel type beams and ring pattern were demonstrated.
In this paper one-regular unimodular filterbank (UMFB) is used for subband based noise reduction in speech signals. The regularity property of the filterbank enables a better estimate of the noise characteristics at low frequencies. This results in effective reduction of noise when compared with conventional filterbanks. Unimodular filterbanks have the lowest possible system delay of M - 1 samples,...
CMP has come a long way from its beginnings as just a simple method for polishing oxide materials to a smooth, finished surface. Today, chemical-mechanical planarization plays a critical role in contemporary integrated circuit processing, and it will still be needed for at least the next ten years as the scale of IC geometries continues to shrink. A multitude of R&D activities focus on various...
Unimodular filterbanks (UMFBs) have the lowest possible system delay of M - 1 samples, where M is the number of channels. In this paper we make use of this property to show that finite length signals can be processed using UMFBs without any border distortions. More specifically, we show that perfect reconstruction (PR) is achieved without increasing the number of samples at the analysis output, and...
A photodetector (PD) with metal-semiconductor-metal (MSM) structure has been developed using an amorphous SiCBN film. The amorphous SiCBN film was deposited on the silicon substrate using reactive RF magnetron sputtering. The optoelectronic performance of the SiCBN MSM devices has been examined through photocurrent measurements. Temperature effect, with respect to photocurrent ratios, has been studied...
