We report the fabrication and characterization of high performance superlattice infrared photodetectors. The single-element detectors have 50% cutoff wavelengths of 5.2 µm and 8.0µm with related R0A of 7.5×104O·cm2 and 110Ωcm2, respectively at 77K. The focal plane arrays with cutoff wavelength of 5.2µm and format of 128×128, showed a noise equivalent differential temperature 33.4mK at 80K. Fabrication...
Spectral crosstalk suppressing design of simultaneous two-color HgCdTe medium-wave/long-wave (MW/LW) infrared n-p-p-n detector is carried out, using commercial Technology Computer Aided Design (TCAD) software Apsys. A compositional barrier between two absorption layers is introduced and designed to suppress spectral crosstalk. MW-to-LW crosstalk can be notably suppressed to 2.1% while LW-to-MW crosstalk...
Embedded smart cameras are stand-alone units that combine sensing and processing on a single embedded platform. They allow flexibility in camera placement, and provide mobility without being dependent on wired links. On the other hand, detecting and tracking objects from videos captured by mobile cameras is a very challenging task even on powerful computers. Since embedded smart cameras have very...
The centroid coordinates of the sun image on the APS is required to be worked out in APS-based digital sun sensors. The usual `centroid' algorithm wastes time, especially when the area of the sun image is far smaller than the APS's. A new and faster method is offered to calculate the centroid of the sun image. The merit of the new algorithm is that it can improve the speed of the calculation and ensure...
