We investigate a novel In0.53Ga0.47As/Al0.85Ga0.15As0.56Sb0.44 (hereafter InGaAs/AlGaAsSb) avalanche photodiode (APD) for high speed operation. The fabricated APD with 20 µm diameter exhibits a maximum responsivity of 5.33 A/W at 1550 nm, a maximum 3-dB bandwidth (f3dB) of 14 GHz, and a clear eye diagram at 10 Gb/s. A GBP value as high as 407.4 GHz was extracted. The results demonstrate the potential...
We report the modulation performance of micro-light-emitting diode arrays with peak emission ranging from 370 to 520 nm, and emitter diameters ranging from 14 to 84 μm. Bandwidths in excess of 400 MHz and error-free data transmission up to 1.1Gbit/s is shown. These devices are shown integrated with electronic drivers, allowing convenient control of individual array emitters. Transmission using such...
A compact dual-band planar monopole antenna for 2.4/5GHz WLAN application is presented. The two resonant modes of the proposed antenna are associate with four slots which contribute to the upper resonant frequency and can reduce the size of the lower resonant length. The parametric study is performed to understand the characteristics of the proposed antenna. Experimental results show that the designed...
The Internet was designed as a packet-switched network in the 1960's and 1970's, with the explicit intent of sacrificing quality-of-service guarantees for an individual application in order to optimize channel usage and provide optimal median service for all applications. This approach was successful, since the application mix of the Internet heretofore has been dominated by applications with low...
