A novel structure with an additional current path is adopted in the proposed circuit to reduce the power consumption. Threshold voltage variations of TFTs and VDD I‐R drops are compensated effectively. This paper presents optical sensors with a new driving method based on hydrogenated amorphous silicon thin‐film transistors (a‐Si:H TFTs) covered with the color filters to increase three types of sensed light. High optical efficiency and low power consumption are critical for display devices. We have analyzed and compared the power consumption of AMOLED and AM‐μLED displays for smartphones, notebooks and TVs under the same ambient contrast ratio. OLED exhibits a lower power consumption than μLED at low luminance, but μLED takes over at high luminance.

This work proposes a new gate driver circuit with a multiple‐bootstrap structure to improve the poor field‐effect mobility of thin‐film transistors (TFTs). The proposed circuit can shorten the falling time of output waveform without increasing the aspect ratio of driving TFT. The falling time of output waveform is improved by 24% compared to that of conventional gate driver circuit.
