A sampling plan is a statement of criteria of acceptance applied to a batch, based on appropriate examination of a required number of sample units by specific methods. In this paper, a new acceptance sampling plan is introduced in which it is assumed that every defective item cannot be detected with complete certainty. To model the problem, the probability distribution function of the number of defective...
Control of vehicle suspension systems has been the focus of extensive work in the past two decades. Many control strategies have been developed to improve the overall vehicle performance, including both ride quality and stability conditions. However, the concerns regarding the wheel motions affecting significantly on the handling and steering are ignored by researchers in the control formulation....
Chaotic electron dynamics in a free-electron laser with realizable helical wiggler and reversed axial magnetic field is investigated. Poincare maps are employed to investigate the chaotic electron motion. Numerical calculations show that all trajectories become regular (nonchaotic) for high enough axial magnetic field.
In this paper, a new nonlinear model of Macpherson strut suspension system for ride control applications is proposed. The model includes the vertical acceleration of the sprung mass and the motions of the unsprung mass subjected to control arm rotation. In addition, it considers physical characteristics of the spindle such as mass and inertia moment. This two degree-of-freedom (DOF) model not only...
An analysis of relativistic electron motion in a free-electron laser with coaxial wiggler and ion-channel guiding is presented. Pioncare surface-of-section maps are employed to investigate the chaotic behavior of electron motion. To obtain accurate Pioncare maps a sixth-order Runge-Kutta method with adaptive step size and Henon method are used. Pioncare surface-of-section plots show that in the presence...
A theory for chaotic electron dynamics in a free-electron laser with three-dimensional (realizable) helical wiggler with ion-channel guiding is presented. The motion of an electron is found to be chaotic for low and medium ion-channel frequency. Chaotic trajectories decrease with increasing ion-channel frequency, until all trajectories become non-chaotic at sufficiently high ion-channel frequency.
