Optical nanodipole antennas using surface plasmon polaritons are numerically investigated with the three-dimensional finite-difference time-domain method. The length of the dipole arm is determined using the effective index of the metal rod calculated from the eigenmode analysis. A stub structure is introduced to match the impedance between the nanodipole antenna and the feeding wave-guide. The radiation...
This paper proposes a novel antenna, which overcomes the above-mentioned issues. The proposed antenna is composed of arc strips. These strips are excited by a single coaxial line. Unlike the antenna in, no reactive elements are used. The proposed antenna is designated as the HP-ARC antenna (horizontally polarized arc antenna), in order to distinguish it from the HoPOMin.
A structure composed of two fed arc strips and two parasitic arc strips, and an EBG reflector is investigated for realizing a horizontally polarized, omnidirectional antenna. The effects of the configuration parameters on the antenna characteristics are analyzed and discussed.
