The investigations of the chemical composition of sands were conducted on the beach in Ustka and Czołpino. The Ustka is a typical tourist town and Czołpino is located in the Slovinski National Park away from urban or rural areas. The beach sediments in Ustka contain much more organic matter, nitrogen and phosphorus compounds as well as calcium carbonate than analogous deposits in Czołpino. The effect...
In July 2000 the diurnal cycle of analyses was conducted in order to determine variation in the concentrations of nitrogen and calcium compounds as well as dissolved gases in surface microlayers of a shallow coastal barrier lake located at the Baltic Sea coast. Water for analyses was collected in a diurnal cycle for the period of 24 h from lake Dołgie Wielkie. The analyses were conducted on the surface...
The aim of this work was the assessment of the age, sex, way of nutrition, environment and health state influence on zinc content in hair of population living in the Middle Pomerania. Within years of 2005-2007 hair coming from 416 persons from a ten months old child to a 75 years old person was analyzed. All people were divided into four age groups: children (0-15 years), youth (16-25), adults (26-50)...
The measurements of chemical components in water of Wieprza River showed that water of this river in 2002-2003 was characterised by the high purity. The average values of most indexes were contained in the ranges of standards for the first purity class. Nevertheless considerable increase of investigation parameters was observed in zone of sewage-treatment plant and uncontrolled waste dump. The part...
The study of heavy metals concentration in the estuarine lake Gardno water and bottom sediments showed that the river Łupawa and periodic inputs of sea water exert decisive influence on forming of the water stores and bottom sediments quality in this lake. The largest concentrations of Cd, Cu, Mn, Pb and Zn were observed at river mouth into the lake region (Cd – 0.26, Cu – 3.71, Mn – 94.3, Pb – 10...
The content of heavy metals in peat soils of north part of Słupsk Region was low. Enrichment factors for Cd, Zn and Mn indicates on their anthropogenic origin in studied peat soils, and for Cr and Ni - natural origin. However copper may be of anthropogenic or natural origin depending on location. The farther from sea peat soils are situated the higher concentration of those metals is.
