In this paper, a three-dimensional (3D) eddy current field model to calculate the eddy current losses in an isolated phase bus is proposed. The temperature rises of the conductors and enclosures in the isolated phase bus are evaluated using the proposed set of thermal equations. Good agreement between the computed and test results is a good validation of the proposed methodology.
High density well aligned vertical CNT arrays were synthesized by thermal chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method on 1 inch by 1 inch Si substrates with sputtered Ti and Si layers. They were used as a new kind of thermal interface material (TIM) for the thermal management of microelectronic packages and high brightness light emitting diode (HB-LED) packages. The thermal resistance of the CNT-array-TIM...
Finite-element analysis has been carried out to predict the through-thickness stresses generated at the transition boundary between monolithic cladding layers and SiC fibre reinforced titanium matrix composite plates. Such stresses have been shown in studies elsewhere to promote premature transverse damage near the transition region ahead of a mode I crack propagating within the cladding layer. Results...
