Colloidally stable suspensions of lead halide perovskite nanocrystals are prepared from high‐quality lead halide nanocrystal seeds. Perovskite nanocrystals with different layered crystal structures are reported. These systems are well suited for investigations of the intrinsic photophysics and spectroscopy of organic–inorganic metal halide perovskites.
This article describes a systematic study of ion release, carried out on lanthanide-encoded polystyrene-co-methacrylic acid (P(S-MAA)) and polystyrene-co-acrylic acid (P(S-AA)) copolymer particles, which were synthesized by two-stage or three-stage dispersion polymerizations. These particles with different levels of lanthanide (Ln) ion content and containing several different types of Ln ions were...
Lanthanide-encoded polystyrene microspheres with methacrylic acid (MAA) as a co-monomer and with diameters on the order of 2 μm and a very narrow size distribution were synthesized by two-stage dispersion polymerization (2-DisP). These microspheres were designed as a platform for mass cytometry-based bioassays. Different lanthanides (Ln) were loaded into these microspheres during the synthesis, through...
A monolayer of chemically prepared gold nanoparticles (AuNPs, with an initial average particle size of 2.3nm) was immobilized on three Au substrates with different roughness. 1,4-Benzenedimethanethiol (BDMT) was used as the immobilizing binder to connect the AuNPs to the underlying Au substrates. Surprisingly, the AuNPs were found to aggregate during their immobilization to different extents depending...
The electrocatalytic effect of nano-sized gold (Au) particles towards reduction of oxygen has been investigated in neutral aqueous media. The self-assemblies of –NH 2 terminated short chain disulfide, cystamine (CYST) and aromatic dithiol, 1,4-benzenedimethanethiol (BDMT) were utilized for anchoring nanostructured citrate-stabilized Au particles. The cyclic voltammetric peak for the reduction...
